Khaosan Road may be widely considered as the backpacker central of Bangkok but it’s mostly a meeting place of sorts and serves as a convenient base for exploring Bangkok Old Town. After all, Khaosan Road is basically in the Old Town (Rattanakosin) and most of the magnificent historical sites and classic attractions are just a short stroll away.

So, if you’re done with people watching in Khaosan, you can take a 10-minute walk north to Phra Arthit Road and enjoy its distinctive bohemian atmosphere or head south and enjoy the colours and flavours of Chinatown. What’s more, Bangkok’s Old Town and Chinatown are conveniently linked by the MRT Underground, making getting between the 2 popular areas a breeze.
