Save yourself, Just say no to this
Our stay at the Clarion Inn in Sherwood Park was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve had. The pillows were oddly tiny, like mini Chiclets, but overly puffy and uncomfortable. After sorting through the abundance of them, I finally flattened one enough to sleep, but it wasn’t great. To make it worse, I found hair on the comforter, which was definitely off-putting. When you walk into the hotel, the lobby is huge and laid out like a conference center—makes sense, given it’s connected to one. But the space felt like a waste, with only a few chairs awkwardly placed in the middle and the front desk off to one side. Even my 13-year-old pointed out that it seemed they spent all their budget on the lobby because the rooms were a noticeable downgrade. The heating and cooling unit in our room didn’t work, and when I called for maintenance, they sent a house cleaner who, understandably, couldn’t fix it. She tried something that caused the heater to blast uncontrollably, and there was no way to turn it off. My son had to crawl underneath to unplug it after we woke up drenched in sweat. We requested to switch rooms, but the new room’s key cards didn’t work—they tried eight, no exaggeration. Eventually, they gave us a master key and said we’d need to find staff each time we wanted back in. When I asked for a manager, there wasn’t one on duty, and the staff said complaints would fall on them. The staff were kind but limited by the poor management. Save yourself the hassle

Would not stay there again
First of all, everything was closed, the pool the restaurant, half the hotel, the elevator. I found it pretty pricey and deceptive cause it looked nice in the pictures. The elevator carpet smelled really funny and the beds were uncomfortable. The only thing I appreciated was the friendly employees. Was not worth the costs.

2/10 Poor

Worst stay I have had in a while.
I had typed in wanting a pool so we could enjoy a swim and it was closed and not posted. I had no shampoo in my room and there was a condom wrapper near the bed.

2/10 Poor

Stayed for one night while attending a concert. We didn’t look at the room too closely at check in because we left for the concert right away. We did not get back until late at night and just wanted to sleep. When I went to shower in the morning I saw mold all around the caulking in the bathtub and soap tray. Needless to say none of us showered. There was damaged tile around the bathtub. The bathroom fixtures are rusted. We also noticed one bed had a faint circular stain on the top blanket. I lifted up the top blanket and there was a darker circular stain on the duvet and the stain went all the way through both bed sheets. I wish we had spotted it before sleeping in that bed. The hallways are dark and dingy. Likely to hide all the damaged wallpaper, damaged paint and stains. The whole property shows signs of neglect. When we mentioned it upon check out the front desk staff was less than helpful and only said they would mention it to their manager. No customer service and obviously no intention of mentioning it or doing anything about it. I took pictures of the bathroom and will post them with this review if I can. We’ve stayed in some dives but never at the high cost we paid for this place. We will not stay there again.

Friendly staff. Good location. Breakfast was ok. Our room was good but could have used a bit of TLC - eg wall light did not work, hook behind bathroom door was missing. Nothing major.

Property is very dated. Limited staff and amenities on hand. Was not advised about pool closer until day of travel. Said they would upgrade room, but it was not ready when we got in it( no towels and phone not working). There for 4 days and short comings we’re not looked after. Walk way to community pool is very seedy.
