Our stay at the Villages at Del Mar was disappointing. It started out with us not being able to find the building due to AppleMaps taking us to the wrong location. We had to call Hotel.com for help. They tracked down the property manager. She told us that you need to put in the name: The Villages at Del Mar and not the building address. This infomation would have been helpful instructions to send to renters. We wasted an hour trying to find our unit. Gloria, the property manager, was very helpful, once we were connected to her. On the positive side, our unit was clean, the beds were really comfortable and the pool was nice. That is the end of the positive. The rest is the not so good. The kitchen was REALLY barebones. It had dishes and silverware for 4 people, two frying pans, one small saucepan and a large pot. There was nothing for cooking in the oven. Not even one baking sheet. The lighting in this unit was really poor. For example there were no lights over the dining area so you basically had to eat dinner in the dark. The kitchen had only one light, as well. Livingroom furniture was ok. The air conditioning was a bit of a challenge to maintain. Unit seemed either too hot or too cold. The description states laundry is available but does not mention that it is $25 per day. The few employees we interacted with were very nice and helpful. If you really want to be in the Del Mar area than this unit may work for you. Be prepared to supply basic items.
