Sag Lodge
Small room with no view. Common kitchen is well equipped. Games, books, and the only TV are there. Canoes and sauna are nice bonuses. Sag Lodge is an hour from Grand Morais.

Gorgeous, remote spot
My partner and I stayed two nights with our 1 year old pup and had a great time. The roads up the Gunflint were well plowed and the hosts gave us instructions for an easy self check-in.
The room was affordable, clean, the bed was comfortable, and the upstairs shared kitchen/community space has a large deck overlooking the lake.
Hosts were great with communication.

Nice Place - Communication could be better.
Booked through Hotels.com and the “Special Instructions” were misleading. They said we’d get a confirmation email to fill out. Nothing ever came. The grade I gave for “Service” was because I couldn’t get anyone to answer Saganaga Lodge’s phone. That’s the bad. Now the good. Drove to the lodge and had no problem figuring out which rooms were ours. The rooms were very clean , as was the common kitchen/TV area. We only stayed the one night, but I found it to be comfortable, affordable and very scenic. I’d stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at the Saganaga Lodge on an extended weekend to do some hiking and canoeing. We arrived after dark with some rain and check in was easy our room was warm and welcoming and larger than we expected. We had our breakfast and a couple of dinners in the dining/commons area. Price was reasonable and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We will probably return. The lodge is next to a boat launch area so it was easy to launch our canoe. Very comfortable accommodations when temperatures were in the 30's and 40's F.

Awesome - but a few recommendations.
Beautiful area! It provided what we needed. A bit disappointed with how dirty our refrigerator was when we opened it to put our food in. We had to wipe it down first. Also - you need some new cooking pans for the kitchen. Also would recommend some kind of shelving in the rooms to put items on, so it is not all over the floor tripping over it or losing small items.
