Motel and the rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. Met the property owner and she was very nice and told us to call her if we need anything. Property is on a creek and the sounds were very pleasant. Maggie Valley is a cute town and would visit again and will definitely stay here.

Wonderful gem of a motel/motor lodge
Staying at this motor lodge was a unique and wonderful experience. The owner was a sweetheart and her dog, Bela, entertained me for well over an hour by fetching and taking treats I had packed for her because I had read reviews before I booked the room. The brook that runs the length of the property was just beautiful, as were the remainder of the motel grounds. This was a unique experience. I travel through Maggie Valley about 3 times per year. I promise you I will not stay anywhere else on any of those trips. It was like spending the night in a different era. Such a wonderful stay!

Would give it 15/10 stars if I could!! This place is a HIDDEN GEM! It is an older "motor lodge" that has been fully updated. It is hidden off the beaten path... beautiful and serene. Ms Caroline was a doll and super helpful. The rooms are updated and current. VERY clean and neat. Right in the middle of Maggie Valley so its very convenient. This is my new go-to lodging if I go anywhere near Asheville, Waynesville, Sylva or Bryson City!!!

Hidden Gem
Front desk was excellent! Quaint little motel that has been remodeled and very clean! Love the mini split AC than makes zero noise and keeps you very cool. Beautiful creek out front with a fire pit and lots of seating. Will be coming back soon!

Unique and wonderful experience
I'm not sure quite what to say about this motor lodge. The moment I drove across the bridge onto the property, I knew I was in for a treat. I have spent many nights out on the road, and I've stayed in some of the finest hotels in the United States. Never have I had such a pleasant experience as at the Heart of the Valley. The owner is just a delightful person. And Bela, the Lab/Sheppard mix, is such a sweet and adorable girl! I brought a bag of treats with me because I had heard about Bela. After I fed her some biscuits, she brought a rock to me and very calmly laid it down at my feet and insisted that I play fetch with her. Despite being an older pup and in poor health, unfortunately, she wanted to play. The next morning when I checked out, Bela recognized me and reacted as if we were lifelong friends who hadn't seen each other in years. So much to discuss about this motor lodge and how wonderful my short stay was. Immaculately clean rooms. Rustic, retro, and beautiful accomodations. Comfortable bed. Wonderful night's sleep. The perfect hostess. Bela the kind and gentle girl she is. I honestly don't remember ever experiencing anything quite like this stay. Thank you for making it such a meaningful and pleasant experience. Best wishes to Bela. I will see all of you on my trip back home.

The lady who owns the motel is so so nice and inviting! There were vacant rooms during our stay, so she let my husband and I upgrade to a room with one king size bed vs 2 queen beds. Every time we saw her she asked if she could do anything for us. They also have their dog at the property (they live on site) and she’s the sweetest, friendliest dog ever!!! The rooms were also very, very nice and cozy. Would highly recommend!

4/10 Fair

This is a cute old motel that was recently redone. The owner was great and the area is great but the beds ( at least in room 103) were so hard it was like sleeping on the floor. The floors are like ice and when you close the bathroom door to shower there’s only one light with a fan so it sucks the cold air from the floor and makes the bathroom so cold. Had to shower with the light off and the door open.
