The town itself was a little run down as we drove through and we missed the turning for the hotel on our first attempt. As it was a one way street we had to re-circle the town and try again, but it wasn't a hardship. However, our surprise when we entered the complex was a fantastic one. Villa Pagoda was an oasis in comparison to the streets we were in seconds before.
An impressive and imposing building with lots of charm, warm friendly staff made our stay amazing. My six year old had the pool to himself and the room was comfortable and luxurious.
The one area where the hotel must really be complimented though is the kitchen. Wow! The food was amazing and they even especially catered for my son to ensure he had something he liked.
There is a train line that runs along the bottom of the property, but even sitting on the patio for dinner, this wasn't intrusive. We certainly didn't mind and the cicadas made more noise than the trains did.
