This hotel is right across the street from one corner of the Mesquita - Catedral and in the middle of the historic old town. Walkabouts are quite easy and full of interesting things to see free and to enter with tickets: equestrian dressage, historic dwellings, museums. Or you can just sit and eat.

Amazing place
The location is amazing. History is at your doorstep. The neighbourhood is simply beautiful. I was upgraded to a room with a large, south facing terrace on arrival. The room and bathroom were large and very clean. Radiator in the room was appreciated.
It was warm enough to sit out on terrace in the middle of the day and the ambience is great. Rest of the hotel is clean and pleasant. Receptionist is very helpful.

What can you expect with this price.
Area is not as good as some would expect. Smelly area may be due to nearby church. Hotel was okay.

The Alzahar is a great choice for a serious traveler who wants the convenience of a very central location, without much tourist noise or crowds, and is ok with a hostal as opposed to a hotel. The rooms face toward an interior patio, which may not work for privacy worriers, but is very Spanish.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff who provided good restaurant recommendations. Coffee hour at 4:30pm. Fantastic location next to the Mesquita. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Plenty of hot water and the bathroom was immaculate.

Great location
I was very pleased with the location of this hotel right in the center of the old city by the mosque-cathedral! Friendly, helpful staff. Basic room served my purposes at a very fair price.

Great location and price
This hotel is perfectly situated in old town. The Mezquita is right across the street! Although very well situated it is on a quiet street with excellent shopping close by. The basic rooms are tiny by any standard but nonetheless extremely clean and quiet!

Clean, comfortable great location
We thought this was a perfect quaint place to stay. The staff are very friendly, helpful people.
They upgraded us since it was a quiet time of year for €5.00 per night. In the morning we walked a few meters to the entrance of the Mesquita (which is right beside the Hostal Azahar). Mesquita has free entrance from 08:30 - 09:30.
We took Bus 3 from and to the Cordoba train station €1.30 each way. (As soon as you reach the corner of the Mesquita, turn and look behind you to see the Hostal).
The bus stop is a few minutes of walking but easy. I would absolutely stay here again and definitely recommend this hostal to friends.

The kindest people ever. The rest of Spain seems grumpy and moody in comparison to Cordoba. I highly recommend Córdoba and this hotel.

Great location but very dark room..
Great location, friendly staff. Bus to station at bottom of the road and loads of eating and cultural places of interest within walking distance. Only issue is room we had was very dark, so needed light on even if brilliant sunshine outside.

Great location
I had a clean and lovely room with a balcony overlooking the street. The staff was very helpful, and best of all the hostal is right next to the mosque/cathedral.
