We stayed here for 3 nights, using it as a base from which to explore Northern Zeeland. The hotel is in a beautiful location, and we really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace which overlooks the gardens. Overall we felt that the hotel was excellent value for money.
Rooms were very clean but slightly cramped and decor was a bit dated. It would have been nice to have had coffee making facilities as well. The big disappointment was that the swimming pool was closed for repairs, as this was one of the main reasons for making the reservation.
We hired bikes from the Hornbaek House Hotel in Hornbaek, which was a great way to explore the surrounding area. There is a nice lake in Hornbaek, as well as a forest area close to the coast. Gilleleje was a delightful town further along the coast, with a nice harbour. Cycling inland we went through a forest area to reach Havreholm, and then continued down to Lake Esrum which was stunning.
