Wonderful manager
We checked in ok, got in our room - heat was blasting, thermostat wasn't working to control temp. Plus satellite box didn't work on the TV. They sent maintenance to look at, he said couldn't do anything, would go get us a different room, to wait. After waiting 10 min, went down to see what was up. Maint was talking with desk worker that told us too bad, he didn't have any clean rooms. But then manager came in, got cleaning staff and got us a room that was fine. He then took us to our show and compensated us for our issues, and was extremely apologetic. Once we got to him, he did everything to make our stay good. The other guy was useless unless you were a member, then he helped them. Is a nice but dated place, looking forward to upcoming renovations

The hotel was clean, but extremely dingy. There were no toiletries in the room. I’d prefer to stay in other locally owned hotels like the Knickerbocker. I checked out early. MKE has pricey hotels, but I’d recommend spending more, even if $75-$100 a night more.

Good location
Great location and the room was good. However the place require an upgrade bathrooms and the tv ( tv kept playing up). The details for the hotel states there’s 2 pools and steam room, was advised the steam room and one pool was closed last year when I went to use the facility. Great basket ball court!

Upon check in the person working gave me a gift bag that was for a wedding party even though i said i was not with them. "You should have said yes"he tells me. I was told the sauna was only for men? "Let me give you directions on the parking ramp so you can tell your husband" this was VERY insulting to my gender, are you assuming I am not driving or not able to comprehend directions? The room was WAY to hot when heat was off and window open in Nov. It was 80! I tried turning A/C on it didnt work. There was only sheets on the bed (no quilt or spread). The linens where all overly bleached so towels felt like sandpaper. Police sirens woke me up almost every hour.

Understand that the property is scheduled for major rehab in a few months, we got what we paid for. Rooms were spacious but “vintage” at best, bathrub functionality difficult. I would like to see this after renovations.

The location was really good but they are going to be renovating soon and it is much needed. Things are very out of date. If you leave the windows open you you’re definitely a lot of city noise. We have no air-conditioning anymore so you’re stuck sleeping in a room that’s at least 75+ degrees. It was pretty hot. Staff was very friendly. Just doesn’t seem like anyone had been up there to service rooms in a long time. We were on the 11th floor With no signs of the hotel being that busy minus an event.

This place is struggling. Whatever we wanted -- including some amenities that are advertised on the website -- seemed to be unattainable. The steam room was closed for repairs, the pools (which are separated by gender anyway, so that's great if you're in TRAINING, which we aren't) closed at 7:00 p.m. (this was a Saturday), we couldn't take baths, just showers, because the spigot for the tub had been replaced a sealed-off pipe sticking out of the wall, and worst of all, we had no control over the heat in our room. All night long I was blasted with forced air, in the bed closest to the vent, and the temperature remained at a dusty 77° despite our open window. Even the night clerk couldn't do anything about it -- he tried, using his computer, but the system was apparently down down down. "This is a very old hotel," we kept hearing, by way of explanation. And then, in the morning, a more conciliatory "Remember us in two years" -- the place is due for major renovations by then, and it needs them.

The hotel had old style charm, but that’s about as far as it went. I don’t think they have upgraded anything but the tv’s since they built the place. It was like stepping into your grandmas first home. But the cost compared to others downtown reflected as much I guess. Also, do NOT stay on the 12th fl. Stairs to the rooftop/racquet ball courts are above and you hear everything all evening/night.

Rooms were very dated and dirty. Tv didn’t work right. We got sound and no picture. Told the front desk and they didn’t do anything for us. I did tell them at check out as we didn’t turn the tv on until we got back from the concert which was late. So I was hoping they would offer up even an apology which I did not get.
