What a gem this pub is!
We stayed at the Bell on 10th July 2021 and what a wonderful time we had. I was brought up in a pub and hotel, spent most of my working life travelling the world and have stayed in lots of different types of accommodation. My favourite is still to stay in a proper English pub, in a lovely quiet village, with great food, beer, a warm welcome and a comfortable room for the night, this is exactly what the Bell is. We arrived early and had a cracking lunch washed down with a few pints of real ale before being shown to our beautiful room “Bumblebee”. The refurbishment of the pub has retained the original features including a log fire in the bar whilst at the same time providing some lovely individually themed bedrooms. In the evening we took a pleasant walk through the quiet village admiring some of the impressive old buildings, before drinks on the terrace outside the pub. Dinner was superb, scallops followed by a gorgeous beetroot risotto with goat’s cheese topping, a night cap and then a great night’s sleep in a very comfortable king size bed. Breakfast the next day was a great full English breakfast with good quality butcher’s sausages and real coffee. We felt a ting of sadness that we couldn’t make the stay two nights! The staff were all superb, efficient, helpful and polite really refreshing. What a gem the Bell is, we highly recommend it.

Weekend away
We had a good overnight stay here with teenage daughters. Service was really excellent, very warm and friendly. Cooked breakfast delicious! We felt comfortable and safe. It was clear what Covid extras had been put in place downstairs but not in our room so some information on what extra cleaning is being done in the bedrooms would be reassuring. The shower was blocked in one bedroom (Squirrel) and the plug was not fitting in the bath of Hedgehog so the water disappeared fast! Other than that we were pleased with our stay and would recommend, thankyou.

Lovely traditional Inn. Excellent service
Excellent service. Above average food. Very comfortable bed. Very small but adequate and functional ensuite. Cramped shower cubicle. Would stay again and recommend. Some bar and street noise in the front kind room but not enough to make me avoid booking again.

Unexpected pleasure
We come to Diss once a year and usually stay in Diss as it is nearer the shops But all was booked and we looked the Bell Inn up on the net and were delighted with the meals and service the room was the usual but clean and the shower good, a particular point of note was the large bath towels provided which was a bonus Good English breakfast included So we can recommend the place

Absolutely Fantastic.
The hotel I usually stay in when working in this area was fully booked so I took a punt on the Bell Inn and what a discovery. Lovely refurbished pub/hotel in a typically English market town. The welcome was really friendly, the room was modern, clean and comfortable, the food in the restaurant was great and it had a lively atmosphere coming from the bar. Breakfast was from 7am, freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. This was a business trip but I would bring family and friends in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!!

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Comfortable room, good food. The only thing we thought could possibly be improved on was maybe moving the outside seating a little further from the road.

Very friendly.
Very friendly Inn with a good selection of beers and an excellent restaurant. I found all the staff very friendy and helpful. Our room (The Stag) was quite comfortable, but had a bit of a wonky floor. The only thing I did not like, was the very small en-suite with the smallest shower cubicle I have ever tried to squeeze into. I would definitely stay here again, but would ask for a different room.
