Road trip stop
First time staying at this hotel and in this town. It was a convenient location to stop on a road trip, and we also really enjoyed the running path and the brewery in town. My one negative piece of feedback would be about the desk clerk who checked us in. She was not particularly friendly or communicative. Not a big deal as I don’t require much, but I figure that this would be expected from a person in hospitality.

VERY smelly room!
I chose this hotel because I was traveling with my little dog and there was plenty of grass around. The pond and walking area nearby are fabulous and evidently attached to Cabelas. But my room and the entire hotel in general are out of date and, I think, in dire need of refurbishing! The carpet had several holes and was in bad shape in the hallway. But, the absolute worst part was the smell in my room!!!!! It smelled of a very strong cleaning chemical, which started burning my eyes, nose and throat during the night. I asked for a different room but they were completely full. They did give me a fan for the window, so I had to sleep with an open window and fan on full force through the night. All my clothes and items smelled of this chemical into the next day after I left. It was just a terrible and very uncomfortable experience. They did say they would refund part of my room charge, but I haven’t checked yet to see if they did or not. It wasn’t ever about the money. Don’t think I will stay there again.

There was some confusion at checkin, because I used a third party booking site and they split my 2-room reservation into 2 reservations. Once we located both reservations, the staff was very accommodating. We were stuck there without a vehicle because our car had been towed in from the highway—the staff allowed us late checkout as we needed time to find a way to move us, our stuff, and our towed vehicle to Cheyenne where the car could be serviced.
