Lovely setting amongst forests and next to a pleasant river, with gentle walks. Wonderful Swiss food, the "Hot Stone" meats being the highlight, with the Steak Tartare running them close. I especially recommend to try the horse steaks. All Hot Stone meals are served with 3 sauces: BBQ, Cafe de Paris and Garlic. We asked them to skip the BBQ and provide extra Cafe de Paris, which they were happy to do. Wine list is excellent, though there was no Petite Arvine, which is my favourite Swiss grape. Wines of the month are superb and probably best value. Expect to pay around CHF 50 (GBP 42) for a bottle of wine, around CHF 9 (GBP 7.50) for a beer and CHF 31 (GBP 25) for Steak Tartare (main). There is also a Thai restaurant but we stuck with the main Swiss one. Room was comfortable, nicely air-conditioned, ample wardrobe space. Bathroom was a little disturbing. It is basically a large cubicle with a walk-in shower and a loo. Two of the walls are clear glass, with a curtain that does not completely enclose the glass sides, leaving the door section uncovered. This means that your fellow room guest will be walking past and see you on the throne in all your glory. The staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. At one point, my wife accidentally threw a full pack of cigarettes into a closed waste bin and the overnight porter was happy to fish around to retrieve them. Indoor fumoir, so you can smoke in comfort in inclement weather. Awesome, female cat.
