Windy honeymoon trip
Went there on honeymoon in October 2022. Left a note on booking but no special treatment / welcome in the room just as normal holiday. No fancy folded towels , flowers or champagne. Staff was mainly very welcoming and friendly except little frustrated on our last day - perhaps it was Diwali when they had to work. Condition of the hotel begs for refurbishing, room and facilities looked much shabbier in real life than on photos. One day pools were very dirty and one had not enough water in it. Last day they also ran out of towels to issue so couldn’t enjoy pool day till last minute. Generally good robust hotel with plenty of eating and drinking options but in desperate need of makeover and good scrub + de-moulding. Loved the local fauna - with birds singing in the morning and geckos + bats lurking in the evening. Also made friends with two cats - hotel policy state to not feed them but they looked starving. Maybe a suggestion for hotel to introduce “cat feeding fund” where guests can donate and cats get fed proper cat food rather than occasional charity from braver guests. Overall good experience but lacked oomph and excusiste feel. Also location is beautiful but super windy 95% of the year - great for surfers but too much wind for swimming in the ocean or snorkelling.
