Clifty Alternative in Madison IN
Pleasant stay in efficient room; comfortable bed, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent for a "continental breakfast" - a variety of hot and cold items with a waffle maker that actually worked and was kept cleam. We chose a modest room as we were only there for one night; larger rooms has gorgeous views. We will stay there again if we get the chance.

Could it be better
Very nice view from balcony and restaurant, the hot breakfast included a good variety (biscuits & gravy, egg, bacon, sausage, hard eggs, yogurt, cereal, waffles, bread, coffe, milk and juice), room was comfortable but floors look messy in corner, not sure if dirty or just old, the place needs some updates and pay attention to some details, like the chanel guide is handwritten, the chairs has socks covering the legs(?), dirty coffe mugs, feels like this hotel could do sonmuch better.

Mediocre and Very Dated Hotel
Hotel and room were very dated. Breakfast was less than desirable. The biscuits were cold as if they had tried to thaw them from a frozen state and placed them on the serving plate. Walls are thin and noise was an issue. Very mediocre hotel for an above average price. However, the reception staff were very pleasant.

This is our getaway destination. We love the city of Madison and all of the hospitality from every business in this charming community. Have been here often and it never gets old....especially liked the Irish band at the Thomas Family Winery last Saturday night....so cool & comfortable. Jim & Cathy

Great view off balcony. Limited extras: no pool, restaurant gym. Outdated. Level C grade redo. Wife liked it better. Good location at end of Main St. Close to Ohio River and the mid 1800 downtown business and residential building. Fun shopping in area. Friend.

Clean room-nice view-needs updates
Beautiful view from the balcony of our room. The hotel is old, the room was musty, turning the ac down and opening the sliding door helped some, screen to door was torn across the bottom. Furnishing old but functional. Room and bathroom very clean with plenty of towels. Breakfast ok for free but much better choices in community at coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants. The driveway up into the hotel is steep and hazardous but understandable with the location. This could be a special place due to the view and the history-but refreshing, and updating-just painting the exterior and fixing the screens would be a good start.
