This hotel is beautiful on the outside, and also on many places on the inside. There is a beautiful sense of architecture and old fashion Nepalese building of carved wood. The whole structure is made of brick, and inside are beautiful marble stone floors and stairs.
If you can, avoid room 501 (New wing) - it is located on the ground floor, it was dark, and smelly. The toilet smelled, and the bedding smelled of mildew. We obtained a room one floor above and that was satisfactorily clean, and it smelled fresh. In both room however the bedding was quite hard, both mattresses and pillows. Other than that it was a nice room.
Breakfast is not included, and unless you get the buffet it can be a bit chaotic. The personnel is doing its best, and it is amazing how they can manage to do the accounting for each room in a group context, considering the orders flying left and right!
Breakfast buffet is 750 Roupies, and unless you eat very very little, it is work paying for that than asking for individual plates (which the personnel will create at the Buffet itself!)
The personnel is doing its best, and we were grateful for that.
