We enjoyed our stay at Madrid Hotel Gwangju and I would recommend to anyone visiting that area. It is modern and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our standard twin room was spacious and clean. The shower/tub area is very large and the separate toilet area is a nice feature. There were only 3 items that kept me from giving the hotel an outstanding rating. The beds were a little too firm for our comfort, the jetted bathtub in our room only functioned as a tub (the power switch for the jets was broken for our entire 6 day stay) and there was no drawer space for storing clothes.

My stay was amazing. Everything was really clean, the area was quiet and the staff was very accommodating. I enjoyed my stay. I will say I wish the massage chair was gentler because it left me with a huge bruise on my back, but it may have been user error. Just be careful!

Relaxing but a little inconvenient
It was a great hotel, the floors aren’t carpeted so they were a bit cold most of the time. I wish there had been drawers/ more storage space for clothes. The area also has few options for vegetarians which isn’t the hotel’s fault, just something to be aware of. It’s also not really located close to most things people would want to do in Gwangju.
