Has potential
We stayed in the cottage. The location was beautiful and the view breathtaking. Our host Jeff was lovely, prepared a light healthy breakfast each day and always had a recommendation for our day trips.
At first glance, the cottage was nicely furnished and neat. However, we were disappointed and felt uncomfortable due to the lack of cleanliness of the bathroom, kitchenette and cabinets. The drinking glasses had obvious marks from previous guests. A dirty vacuum cleaner was in the middle of the bedroom closet.
If you plan to arrive by a nice car, you should know that Whitford House can only be reached by an unpaved road.

Our trip started off a little rocky since Orbitz has the wrong address listed for the Whitford B&B. However, when we called Jeff he was helpful in guiding us to the correct location and understanding of our tardiness for check in. The farmhouse itself is fantastic; Jeff explained some of the history behind the farmhouse and his future plans for the property. Breakfast was all organic products and I thoughouly enjoyed the steel cut oats with added fresh vermont maple syrup. Jeff and his wife, were great hosts proving all we could ask for, with top quality vermont products. It was a lovely weekend, that went by too quickly! Thank you for having us stay in your unique and amazing property!

Beautifully remote
A delightful Vermont farm out in the country. The facility is very modern and the trees and view were wonderful. It's fairly far from Vergennes, at least a 15 min drive. Otherwise it's a great stay.

Words cannot possibly do justice to this picturesque b&b! It was so refreshing to have even lovelier accommodations than advertised on the website. Perhaps the only thing more charming than our room itself were our hosts, Jeff & Mary Jane, I hope we have the opportunity to visit again, should we find ourselves in VT!

The best!
This is one of the best places my husband and I stayed on our trip to New England. The sweet couple who owned it along with the sheep Pan and Dora and the beagles made it all so more memorable. This was back in 1997 but it was a pure treasure.

Picturesque B&B in Dreamy Location
My boyfriend and I traveled to Addison for a wedding at nearby Lake George. We booked a stay at Whitford House for 2 nights. As soon as we drove up, we felt like we had made the right choice. The house is set on a huge property with no other homes in sight, and a gorgeous view of the mountains.
Jeff welcomed us and showed us around the house - a carefully maintained and updated farm house with beautiful wood floors and trim, and lots of personal details in the decor.
Our room was set apart from the living areas of the house and felt very private. We had a king sized bed and an en suite bathroom. Everything felt very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was a selection of fruit, oatmeal, cereal, toast, juice and coffee. Couldn't have asked for a better start to the day. Would definitely return

Lovely house, great hosts
Whitford House took me a little work to find — I drove past the driveway — but it was well worth it. Jeff was a fantastic host, very welcoming, helpful, and genuinely interested. The house is beautifully updated and maintained, and it was a pleasure to stay there. Highly recommend!

So attentive and what a view
After an unexpected long drive from Nova Scotia I was looking forward to some peace and calm. From the first contact to saying farewell Jeffrey was very considerate and thoughtful. I left fully charged after an excellent nights sleep in a very comfy bed. Thank you.

A little slice of heaven
This place is a little slice of heaven. Beautiful house and carriage house, beautiful location and scenery. We stayed in the carriage house. It was so clean and lovely with windows all around. Sweet gardens and mountain views. The bed is super comfortable and the host goes out of his way to accommodate. Loved listening to old time records on the vintage stereo system. Both the little city of Vergennes and Middlebury are nearby. We had great meals at the local restaurants in both towns. We hope to go back again over the next few years while our son is at UVM. Perfect!
