Take ear plugs
I paid extra for a sea view & got a view of the car park & no sight of the sea. My room was on the first floor and within minutes of entering the room I was aware of a lot of noise coming from the room above. The sound insulation between the rooms is clearly inadequate, the ceiling was continually creaking with people walking across it and I could hear their conversations. I returned to reception to complain but was told the hotel was full & it wasn't possible to move me into another room. Even with ear plugs I could hear conversations until well after midnight. Next morning I complained again & asked to be moved into a different room for my next nights stay, the Hotel were unwilling to give me another room so I checked out a day early.

6/10 Good

Our stay at Standing Stones was disappointing. No one was available readily at check in and could give us no information about the area. The chef was sick so the restaurant was closed but we weren’t told that until after we arrived. No one was around when we checked out. The breakfast was good! There was virtually no staff around except at breakfast.

Very good stay
Lovely stay, staff pleasant, dinner food and breakfast was lovely, not taking a mark off but the room was slightly cold on a night, even though i heard some people complain

Very small room with hard bed
The hotel looked deserted, no chance for drink as bar closed as no staff to run it. Room was very very small with a small double bed which was very hard. No chance for breakfast as we had to leave early. Very poor value and not worth £120 a night. I will not stay again.

Don't gomwith first impression
On first appearances we actually thought it was closed. No signage on the road and lots of weeds out front. Difficult to decide which was the entrance. However, inside is a different story - it is clean, newly decorated and very welcoming. Room was lovely and the ensuite was great. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly. Disappointing that we booked a loch view room and didn't get one. However the whole hotel faces the road and not the amazing view at the back, best view is from the garages!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in two neighboring rooms that were inside an old train car. The rooms were cute and updated, and very clean and comfortable. There’s a great restaurant (great food) and pub (great drinks) on site which was convenient. This property was very central to all of the sites we wanted to see (Stonehenge, woodhenge)
