I was in contact with the property ahead of time to arrange a taxi pick-up from the airport when we arrived in the country. This was fine. However, the driver took us to an alternate location in Havana, not Yamila House. We were then ushered to a 4th floor walk-up in an apartment building, and the woman there made phone calls. My Spanish is functional, but not fabulous. It appears that Yamila House and the woman from the apartment had a backroom deal to divvy out clients to alternate properties.

It was a modest, clean room in a casa particular, as there are many in Havana. The price of these type of accommodations is always around US $ 25-35. I payed US $ 62 on expedia.com. Based on information from Expedia, the quality of the accommodation was not clear. I would have expected much better accommodation for this price. The landlady was very nice and the breakfast was good too.
