-friendly hotel. We stayed 2 nights and met friends for a meal in the restaurant on one. The food in the restaurant was superb!
Our room was beautiful and spacious. The staff were lovely and the grounds great for walking and relaxing.
We also had the best hotel ironing board ever! It actually warranted its own picture! Who needs a full blown ironing board in a hotel? Now I want one of these at home!"

"Stunning and unusual little hotel in lovely village square setting. Room was amazing, a real experience. Voucher for breakfast in downstairs cafe an added bonus. Free parking close by. Self check in worked a treat, staff on hand via whatsapp if required. Loved it! "

"I booked a suite but when I went into the bathroom I found that it had not been cleaned, soap still in the soap dish, and overflowing bin. I was going out and was short on time, complained to the manager who quickly offered a complimentary breakfast and free car park. I asked if they would transfer my bags to the new room due to my lack of time. On my return the room was a basic (much cheaper) but to my dismay the bathroom was filthy, floor was disgusting, shower had hair in it and towel rail...

Good selection of drinks in the bar and the breakfast was fantastic. Service by staff was excellent, so would highly recommended and feel good value for money all round.

"Harumph. It wasn’t exactly our first choice but circumstances led to us staying here and it lived down to expectations.
Proudly bills itself as the UK’s oldest hotel and that’s exactly the vibe you’ll get as you approach from the hideous 70s extension at the rear car park.

"This hotel is great , ive stayed here numerous times due to work. All staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the pool and spa really are a added bonus. The rooms are clean,warm and have a fridge which is good when you are staying all week. The car park is big enough so never struggled to park my van. The only issue I have had is due to the allowance i have for working away there are times when i have had to find other accommodation due to the price fluctuating, if it wasnt for that then...

"Excellent everything about the place and owners what a warm welcome.
I arrived later than anticipated i got greeted by the owners which although late at night couldn't knock them for going out of there way to still accommodate me.
I havent eaten all day for 14 hrs they gave me something to eat off there own backs.
There was food in room like bread,ham, cheese and yogurt and fresh fruit.all condiments, everything was well thought of.
Room was compact,warm and very clean.
Overall a excellent stay...

"Friendly staff, nice decor in public rooms. Our room was clean, bathroom recently refurbished but certain aspects like the door and decor let it down. We were B&B, breakfast was excellent. The hotel is excellently located to get the park and ride into town.
