"Stayed on the 4th floor in one of the rooms with the tub on the second floor. Really enjoyed our time. Luckily, on a hot day, our room had a Dyson A/C, so helpful for us.
Everyone we talked to, from the front desk, to the bartenders, to the wait staff in the restaurant, were friendly and easy to talk to.
Our second stay at Hotel du Vin, and we'll definitely be coming back for more stays."

"Excellent car parking, bar area and staff. Pool was good, food was ok. Room for a deluxe room was very very tired, marked walls, furniture was damaged, old fashioned bathroom, no robes or water which I thought came with a deluxe room, nice view of the river though the windows were very dirty . The hotel we have heard is being renovated which will help so much, it definitely needs it in some of the rooms. "

"We chose the hotel at random, knowing it was central and had on site parking. In fact it was the perfect choice for exploring the city. Close to all the historic sites, and easy walking to restaurants and pubs. The staff were very friendly and efficient - which made the stay even better."

"We had a little overnight stay at The Grand Hotel in Roker and we weren’t disappointed what a lovely hotel so clean and the staff were absolutely fantastic especially the man on reception!!so friendly nothing was a bother The beds were so comfortable we are booking again in a couple of weeks time without the children this time ha ha "

of two adults, two children (11 and 6) and dog. We especially loved exploring the grounds, meeting the peacocks and relaxed dining in the drawing room (Polly the pooch was made very welcome and the service was 5*). The staff were lovely and dealt with all our queries with a smile. The daily tour of the castle was another highlight, with a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide.
