My wife and I toured the St. Lawrence/Gaspe area in late September/early October. We ended the circuit with two nights in Quebec at Les Lofts de la Barricade. We have been to Quebec three previous times and stayed in a range of hotels, including Chateau Frontenac.
The location was perfect-down near the Harbor within easy walking distance of most tourist sites.
The renovations to this old building appeared to be pretty new. It was clean and well-maintained, done in a sort of Ikea-type decor. The price for a one-bedroom suite, with a kitchen/living room was significantly lower than even a two-star hotel in the area during the same time. Except for a small glitch at check-in, everything went smoothly. I would stay again.
One note: if you reserve parking, the lot is close by, but use their map because GPS can easily send you to a lot across the street, which is not the one Lofts uses for reservations.
