The motel is conveniently located and is very clean. It's pet friendly but with no adverse smells. We managed to leave some valuable items and the owners were very quick to find them and have them ready for a relative to pick up. We'd stay here again.

Lake Motel was awesome — tons of space, less than 5 minute drive to downtown Taupo, and the owner was super kind and helped us out with our laundry. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

It was a real retro motel and was very well kept. The Owners were very welcoming, approachable and helpful. We were given an upgraded unit at no extra cost. The motel is situated in a good area, close walk to the Lake. It was a very enjoyable stay which we greatly appreciated.

This cute retro hotel is a short walk to the Lake. It has the best service ever - truly retro in a good way! They still tidy the room daily, bring fresh towels, offer laundry service, free bike loan, and are so helpful and informative. Highly recommend!

Lovely retro suites in a small motel format a short 2 blocks walk to the shores of Lake Taupo in an upscale residential neighborhood. Spacious and clean, we used the kitchenette for breakfast and once for lunch. We also were able to do some laundry on site. Great hosts & staff.

Located within 5 minutes walk from the Lake shore, highly recommended for those who prefer silent and calm atmosphere. Though somewhat far from the town centre, it's Okay if car is available. (Enough Parking Space.)

Always love staying here, as it’s peaceful and the decor in each room (we have stayed in a few) is unique and well curated. We love the retro, mid- century vibe and the rooms are always immaculate and accommodating. They have everything you need and the motel is peaceful and secure. The best part, they are dog-friendly, which is super rare and such a relief, as it means we can keep our two pups with us on holiday. Amazing option which we are grateful for. Will definitely be back and our preferred place to stay when in Taupō.
