We have used the West bridge hotel for several years now. Unfortunately the last two stays we have been allocated rooms in the older part of the hotel. This time we were in room 007, known as the Victoria Suite. Not a bad room on the face of it. One major problem, the heating is extremely loud and constant through the night. Luckily we brought ear plugs but if we hadn't this would not in my eyes be fit for purpose. Second issue was the hairdryer which cut out after only a minutes use, It came back on but repeated this three times before it had to be abandoned. Shame really as we do like the hotel.

Good Stay
Out stay at the Westbridge Hotel was good. Would highly recommend if you need somewhere close to a large train hub and shopping. The room was quiet and comfortable. The only comments would be that the overall condition of the room was lacking, you could see dust on the creases in the headboard and wear and tear on the skirting and paintwork in all the rooms. I would also say that £17 for breakfast is a bit much and they are not really able to cater for specific dietary needs. The Gym facilities were FANTASTIC! well resourced and enough space!

The Westbridge Suite
We stayed in the Westbridge Suite which is right at the top of the hotel, up a few flights of stairs. The room is nice and spacious and has its own dining area and its own rooftop patio area, however, the floor of the room appears to sway or move when doors below are closed which is a very strange feeling! Worst thing about the room was the shower. Rainfall shower with an additional normal shower head, but the attachment for the shower head was broken so you couldn’t move it up the pole, it just stayed at the bottom. The shower only had 2 settings- uncomfortably hot or scalding hot so was not enjoyable. Have previously stayed at this hotel twice before, it is a nice hotel but I’d personally stay in the cheaper rooms for my next visit.

Friendly and helpful staff
Such wonderful, friendly staff. Stayed here as easy access to ABBA voyage and excel. Overground station literally couple of minutes walk from hotel. Our rooms were at the end of the corridor so, lovely and quiet. Not sure if you would have the same experience if you were staying in rooms right opposite the lift areas or the first few rooms nearest to the reception area (but could be wrong) Lots of choice at breakfast only negative thing would be the bacon, which tasted awful, would recommend don’t try it. Saying that would stay here again if going to excel or seeing ABBA again.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were on the fourth floor with a bedroom that contained everything we needed. Very comfortable stay. Breakfast was self service and served both hot and cold items. Everything was regularly topped up so plenty of choice. Short walk to the station/underground. Just wonderful. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. A brilliant location and well serviced. The room was compact but exactly what was needed, and the fridge was a brilliant bonus for those who prefer proper milk to UHT. It also felt very safe - being recognised by name upon returning to the hotel by the reception staff was very comforting when a woman travelling alone. A special shout out to the wonderful Roland!

Suffocating stay
Was given a room at ground level directly next to the busy street with passersby a few feet away. Requested a change which couldn't be made as the hotel was full. Couldn't open windows and would have been unsafe to do so. Felt both claustrophobic and stifling. Air in the room was not great and didn't sleep because of traffic noise outside.

The hotel was very lovely and the staff was really nice and accommodating. Loved going to the gym, had everything I needed. The only issues I had was: The cleanliness was good but for some reason the glasses in my room was never changed for the 4 days I was there, even though I mentioned it but it still wasn’t changed. Also the WiFi was quite poor at times, had to hotspot for most of the time I was there. Other than those two things though, it was great.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay The Westbridge. Highlights included: -easy access to public transportation -the friendliness of staff and being able to check in early -wide variety for the breakfast buffet (eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, yogurt, cheese, fruit, etc. ) -having a premade breakfast ready for us to take when we checked out at 5am due to an early flight Thank you, staff!
