Oze's culinary skills aside, the warmth and friendliness displayed by the entire staff, especially Oze, added an extra layer of comfort to my time at Shanti Hostel. Oze went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. The genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable. The hostel itself boasts a vibrant and inviting atmosphere, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers. I highly recommend Shantihome. Wonderful, friendly, helpful dedicated people, excellent atmosphere, and the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, or close to it. And the breakfast is included in the price of accommodation. The only down-side is the noise from the street, because it's in the heart of an night-life district. However, for that problem I found ear-plugs to be a satisfactory solution.

Although I've an aunt in Izmir I needed to stay somewhere unfamiliar and Shanti was extremely helpful since it really feels safe. Cleanliness and order are not the best I've seen but it's worth it.

The staff at this hostel were frendly and helpful. It is well geared to meet the needs of travellers. Although the building is run down, the place was clean. The shower was hot, and towels were provided. There was a washing mschine available for 10 lira, and space on the roof to dry clothes. Drinking water was free, and there was a kitchen for use. Breakfast was provided free, although a small donation was encouraged. There was no airconditioning, and the rooms could be hot. The surrounding area is full of Bars and restaurants that operate into the early hours, so if heat and noise bother you, this is not the place for you. Otherwise the location was good. Close to cafes, shops and the waterfront. About 400m from the Metro.
