Nice Hotel
2nd stay in this hotel. Last year stayed in the tatami room and this year stayed in the normal room. It is a smoke free hotel but they do have a designated smoking room at ground floor. Walking distance from JR station and canal.

an ok no nonsense hotel in busy tourist area
a bit pricey but if you want to be at the centre of town near the canal, amenities and service is straightforward. The male older staff at check-in needs to practice more in speaking and dealing with foreign guests, in the end, we got checked in. no parking but you will be directed to a nearby times parking space which is just a few steps away. they have public bath included in the price but we didnt get to use it as we expect it to be full since it is a busy hotel; we didnt try the breakfast (not included) as we need to head out early - overall still ok.

Great location near the scenic canal. A stone’s throw from the four major museums of the city. Lots of dinner options nearby. Vicinity to the bus stop to Mt Tengu or the train station. Breakfast was great even for the already high standards of Japanese hotel breakfasts. Very satisfied! One suggestion: Should have more than one or two English tv channels if you want to serve more international clientele.

The property was centrally located in Otaru, within minutes of walking to the canal and the main dining street. The room was spacious in Japanese standard, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast spread was luxurious, but it also required a timed entry ticket. One thing to note is that do not park in the hotel lot -- the parking lot down the same street had lower rate (800 yen for 24 hrs).

Excellent value. A quaint , modern, clean hotel without frills, in an excellent location. As in most Japanese hotels of this price, the rooms are tight and there is little room for luggage. However, because there’s lots to see in Otaru, one spends little time in the hotel, so it was just what we needed. I highly recommend it if it fits your budget.
