A Wonderful Taste of Frace
Le Pavillon Bleu is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are simple, but very comfortable, (TV, Tea making and soon). The situation, nestling against Le Loiret. The restaurant is exceptional, everything beautifly prepared, and presented, with a splendid range of wines to accompany the dishes. The patron and his staff are friendly and so professional. Le Pavilion Bleu is one of our favourite places to stay. If you want a real taste of France, this hotel, and its restaurant , is for you. I cannon recommend it enough.

Excellent
What a lovely find. Just 10 mins from the motorway. This old building has huge rooms, bath /shower. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Lovely views of the lake with great walks after a long journey. However the best is left to last, the restaurant! If you want excellent food and a wine list to die for, this is for you. This is not a cheap restaurant but you will not be disappointed.

Room overlooked the car park even though it was booked some months before. We could not have our evening meal on the veranda overlooking the river so went elsewhere and still a couple of tables free later in the evening.

Disappointing experience in Olivet
Granted, the hotel is a lovely old lady situated on the canal with beautiful walking trails and away from the noise of the city. The hotel advertises their restaurant, posts a remarkable menu, and indicates dining is available 7 days a week. We arrived on Sunday, July 30, late in the afternoon and were told that the restaurant was not open that evening. We enquired about others options and received very little help except being told that there was a restaurant a few buildings down the street. It was also closed. When we returned to the foyer of Pavillon Bleu, we found it empty of staff and the open dining and bar area roped off, lights out. My husband made the mistake of stepping around the rope into the main entrance and promptly set of the security alarm. Still, no one arrived. We left the property in search of dinner, but feeling guilty, return to the hotel. The alarm was off, and still, no one around. Breakfast the next morning was served in the foyer of the bar and was adequate. We found that the Hotel lacked the “hospitality” that we have experienced all over France. It was a disappointing experience to say the least.

Pavillon Bleu
This is my second overnight visit prior to driving to the Channel Tunnel. My overall assessment is excellent. The location by the river, the high standard of the restaurant, both food, wine and service plus the high standard of room facilities is the reason for my assessment. Would recommend! Anthony Evans

Do not stay if hot weather
We had a room under the roof , terribly hot , no aircon , no fan provided and no moustique net at the windows so could not open these . No lift , No one at reception even though it was supposed to be manned at 8pm . Breakfast was not a buffet as shown on the photo , we had to share one boiled egg, when we asked for a second one as we are 2 it was not part of the deal… I would not recommend this hotel in the summer .

2/10 Poor

This property has great potential. Unfortunately the hotel has not had the same care and dedication shown as the restaurant. There is a lack of sound insulation, not enough staff on hand for check-in and check out, the rooms are OK but the bathrooms have chipped grout and black mould in places. Recommendation, eat at the restaurant and stay somewhere else.

3* hôtel
3* hôtel. The room didn’t merit more than that, in common with other hotels, awful flat hard pillows, complimentary and not necessary mini bottles of shampoos but only one small water bottle. Michelin restaurant, very expensive, expect 100€ per person. The drain smell is strong. Beautifully situated by the river with lovely walks, but not far away is a hotel with very similar rooms and food but very much less expensive.

Staff were very rushed and didn't have time to properly talk with you, felt transactional. Restaurant is a michelin restaurant. Food was very good, but portions maybe small if you have a large appetite. Room was comfy and clean. Parking was available, Nice location. wifi signal was weak. Overall I would recommend the hotel.

Annoyingly didn't notice that check-in was from 5pm although it was stated on the information, just didn't expect it from a hotel. I will read more carefully in future!. We arrived at 3.30pm and not a soul around. Had to kill an hour and a half when all we really wanted was a lay down after a day's travelling. All rooms are on the first floor and there is no lift. Access is via a very badly lit, twisty old staircase, so quite a challenge helping my 83y/o Father up and down the stairs. The rooms were a generous size but quite cold. Bathroom's basic, functional if a bit tired. A kettle was provided, which is unusual in France but I had to fill it from the bath because of the stupid shallow sink and then plug it in on the floor because there were no suitable sockets. Had to unplug a lamp to charge my 'phone too! Bed was comfy and there were spare blankets provided. Where the hotel redeemed itself was dinner. Lovely dining room, excellent service and fabulous food, although it was very expensive. Despite the faults, I actually would stay again, just because we had such a lovely meal and the rooms were acceptable. Just not with my parents and not in the winter! Those stairs are just too much for my Dad and the rooms are just not warm enough in November.
