Métis Bali is a French Mediterranean, fine-dining restaurant along the Jalan Petitenget road in Kerobokan, north of the Seminyak area. Métis offers diners a ‘sensory dining’ experience, combining a restaurant, bar and lounge, as well as a gallery and boutique under 1 roof.

The 350-seat restaurant, bar, lounge and private dining venue offers diners exciting menu selections crafted by chef-owner Nicolas ‘Doudou’ Tourneville. He brings his legendary talent and culinary artistry to the table with a masterful combination of French and Mediterranean flavours.

Métis Bali’s highlights and features

The Bar Lounge features an exclusive collection of wines from around the world. Here, connoisseurs can enjoy speciality wines by the glass or bottle, as well as classic and original cocktails. At the bar, you can also savour small-plate selections while enjoying world music from live DJs.

Métis has a terrace and veranda that overlooks adjacent rice fields. Upbeat vibes are the feature of the full bar downstairs. The veranda lounge is an optional corner to enjoy a cocktail. The private cellar at Métis is another highlight that serves as an intimate space for up to 10 guests. A long table is surrounded by an array of wine bottles and artwork.

A fully air-conditioned 120-seat banquet hall features more panoramic views of rice fields and its own bar but is reserved for special occasions.

What to eat at Métis Bali

Métis Bali serves lunch and dinner, with lunch highlights that include organic wild rocket salad with crumbled feta cheese or roasted pumpkin and pear with pine nuts and balsamic dressing for starters. There’s lots of soups, sandwiches and pasta choices, and main courses include grilled fish of the day, yellow-fin tuna steak à la plancha, barbecued pork ribs, and grilled Moroccan lamb kefta.

The dinner menu is more extensive, with intriguing selections such as 14-hour crispy pork belly, half boneless roasted quail and 250g grilled Australian Black Angus rib-eye steak. The dessert list includes trio créme brûlée of green tea, ginger and lemongrass, vanilla and raspberry, and the assorted sweet temptation consisting of mille-feuille, créme brûlée, Manjari chocolate dôme, mango sablé, and yuzu meringue tart that serves 2.

Good to know about Métis Bali

Métis also displays a unique collection of traditional and contemporary Balinese art. Found throughout the restaurant are displays of handcrafted jewellery pieces, objets d'art, contemporary photographs and paintings, and a collection of Asian statues and figurines.

Métis Bali regularly features highlighted events such as Aperochic every Friday from 5.30pm to 8pm. There’s also ‘Dining With The Chefs’, which is an opportunity for foodies to get up-close with the chef and his delectable inventions. Schedules are updated regularly and, with limited available seating, reservations are recommended.
