The Magna Plaza is an expansive shopping mall in a spectacular neo-gothic and neo-renaissance Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 182 building. As one of the top 100 Dutch heritage sites, the Magna Plaza and the monumental building are a landmark sighting in addition to a shopping centre.

Along with clothing stores, the mall has a Swarovski crystal store, a toy shop, a souvenir store for all your Dutch trinkets and a cheese shop offering selections such as gouda and edam.

    The ground floor has a spectacular grand piano, and on the weekends and holidays, there is live music for shoppers’ enjoyment. Magna Plaza also features Rembrandt All His Paintings, an exhibit featuring Rembrandt’s total works consisting of 325 paintings that are life-sized, digitally remastered and reproduced under one roof.

    A visit to Magna Plaza is worth the trip justfor the architecture and interesting interior alone, independent of the shopping opportunities. The large glass-domed roof gives the building a light and airy feeling. Be sure to take a break from shopping and visit The Food Department, the in-house food court featuring world fare, from tacos to Chinese, as well as delectable pastries.
