Loved the location and variety of offerings at this hotel. The bottom floor has a large, mixed use area that is perfect for hanging out, working remotely, reading in the library or enjoying the cafe or outdoor patio. There is also a bar and restaurant area that has excellent food and drinks and is also perfect for relaxing, dining, or having drinks at the bar. There is a separate outdoor lounge and pool area on the second floor that is also beautiful for relaxing. The cafe serves a variety of coffee, tea, and food and there are so many other options within a 1-5 min walk. All of the staff are nice, relaxed, and helpful. The laundry room, gym and variety if room options also provide choices for short, long, business, family and couples traveling. Nice views and walking distance to the metro and other areas, in the heart of DC.

Fine location and room--service needs work.
I stayed in a king bed room and for the price and location it's fine. I should say that it is really a hostel, so expect that kind of service and attention to detail. For example, there's no coffee in the room and when I asked the front desk to confirm the receptionist blanched like, "You want coffee in your room??" (It's fairly standard.) Also, the pillows are pretty bad. Another thing that happened which was fairly upsetting was in the middle of the night of my first night (around 2AM) two women tried to enter my room. I thought they were just confused and ignored it, but they came back with a security guard who asked who I was and if the room was occupied. Kind of scary/weird experience to happen that late. I let the front desk know the next day and the woman apologized and said the next breakfast would be comped. But when I did go down the next day the girl there said nothing was in the system and there was nothing she could do. I mean--if your customer has that kind of experience and you can't comp their coffee?
