We started off on the wrong foot. We arrived at the hotel at 5:30 AM after a long and exhausting traveling journey, only to be greeted at reception by a young man who didnโt speak a word of English and had no record of our reservation. They initially put us in a room that we had to change immediately because it didnโt even have a door. The second room, where we spent the first night, had a poorly maintained bathroom and a fridge that looked and sounded like a broken-down car.
During our stay, the water supply was cut off for two out of the five days. The bathroom had a persistent leak, the fridge was completely iced over inside, and if unplugged, it flooded the room. While the bed wasnโt uncomfortable, the overall experience was far from restful.
On the last day, we had to leave without showering because there was no water. To make matters worse, every afternoon when we tried to rest, construction work would begin on the doors, complete with loud hammering.
It was truly an experience to forget.
