A Wonderful Budget Hotel
Budge hotel wise, it’s hard to beat this hotel. Clean, decent sized room and comfortable beds. Convenient and safe location. Little things like pieces of chocolates on your nightstand show how they care for you. I would give this place a 5 star. But since it is lumped with other hotels, for a basic budget hotel, a 4 star is quite remarkable.

We had a fantastic time at Northland motel. The customer service was excellent, and the room was very clean. We paid a reasonable price and our expectations were all exceeded. The Big Lebowski Audio Tape
This was an affordable motel close to Penn State. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The only odd part about it is it's built adjacent to a bowling alley. You could hear the bowling balls rolling and the pins falling. But I honestly didn't mind it; it was incredibly soothing and I fell asleep quickly every night. Like the sounds of a summer storm. I was also told the food at the Bowling Alley was excellent, but didn't get a chance to try it.

The little motel is newly renovated and a great place to sleep when visiting students at Penn State. It's convenient and clean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Northland Motel. First and foremost, the staff simply could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The room updates were very well done and it made for a very comfortable stay. We actually loved that the motel is connected to the Northland Bowling Alley - they had great food and a nice bar too! The only concern may be that it's exterior entry to your room, but overall the area felt safe to us. We would definitely stay again!
Nina, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

The place is connected to a bowling alley which we could hear and smell well into the night.

The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating!!! Updated, clean and super cute!!! All of our travels over the last couple of years, no one ever gives fresh towels or empties the garbage. How AMAZING to come back at night and this was done. You could feel that the staff takes pride in their motel. We will stay with them again for sure!!!

Very nice place. Clean, well maintained. It is hard to find.. Hidden behind bowling alley. No prior info telling customers that they need to check in at the front desk of the bowling alley.
Jay, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

It wasn’t what I expected it to be. It could’ve been a whole lot better for the price that I had to pay pay to stay there. It wasn’t worth what I paid to stay there.
Constance, 1-night trip

The property was recently updated and on the surface looked nice. But there were some areas in the bathroom that were a bit shoddy. The tub spout had about an inch gap from the wall. The shower handle was barely hanging on. The shower curtain rod while secure was poorly connected on one end. And the sink faucet was so far back from the sink that the water just about hit the back of the sink leaving no room to wash your hands without getting water everywhere. Everything functioned but it kind of makes you wonder what other shortcuts were done. But it was a pretty quiet place despite being attached to a bowling alley. Overall not bad.
