Shangri-La Tianjin
"This is my third time staying at this Shangrila hotel. The location is perfect and the service is excellent. The checkin staff (a gentleman sorry I couldn’t see his name without my glasses :( ) was very helpful. He remembered my name and birthday. They sent a birthday cake on my birthday to my room, which was a nice surprise. Thank you!"

Hilton Garden Inn Tianjin Railway Station
"I really like the local breakfast. The city view is amazing. Staff member always tried their best to help my partner who doesn’t speak Chinese. There are 2 robots delivering food, super cute!"
Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Tianjin Downtown by IHG
"This is one of my best stays across the world, and the best in China. Just superb and at a great price. Large modern room, awesome view, a pool, polite staff, everything very nearby (although, yes, you need to walk a good ten minutes to line one’s Er Wei Road metro station), and yet you are in a non touristy residential-feeling area (actually a huge hospital precinct). Do yourself a favour if in Tianjin and stay here."
Hilton Garden Inn Tianjin Five Great Avenues
"I came down to Tianjin for two days unexpectedly from Beijing. The rooms were very reasonably priced, quiet, and clean. The staff were great, but make sure you have a translator as I Tianjin gets many English speaking visitors. The gym was surprisingly fantastic."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Tianjin
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Tianjin is during February, August, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city's prominent landmarks, rich history, and cultural attractions. Visitors can explore the scenic river, enjoy captivating musicals, and even partake in activities like whale watching and dolphin spotting. Additionally, there are opportunities for hiking in hilly areas, visiting temples, running along picturesque routes, camping, and relaxing in beautiful cafés and libraries. This trip offers great value for money, allowing you to experience the essence of Tianjin while keeping expenses manageable.

Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you make informed choices. You'll be promptly notified if rooms become available or prices drop, helping you secure a getaway with flexible cancellation options.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Tianjin hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels may provide a more personalised service and sometimes offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will indicate whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Opting to stay near key attractions or city centres may provide convenience, but it often comes with elevated costs. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and ease of access to the sites you wish to visit. You could also look into independent hotels a bit further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
