We recently stayed at The Millerton Inn and overall had a really lovely experience. The room itself was incredible, beautifully designed, comfortable, and exactly the relaxing getaway we were hoping for. The ambience throughout the inn is stunning, and the dining area especially felt warm, cozy, and inviting. We would absolutely love to come back.
The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because the breakfast was very misleading compared to how it’s advertised online. The description mentions locally sourced, freshly baked pastries and goods, fresh fruit, and fresh coffee. We were not expecting a full hot breakfast, as that is not what’s advertised, but we were definitely expecting something fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
Unfortunately, when we went downstairs in the morning, we were disappointed to find prepackaged loaves of bread that appeared old, a few apples, and a Keurig instead of fresh brewed coffee. After such a wonderful night’s stay and walking into such a beautiful, relaxing breakfast space, it felt very underwhelming and did not match the experience or expectations set by the hotel’s description.
That said, the stay itself was truly wonderful, and with a more accurate breakfast description or an improved offering, this easily would have been a five-star experience.
