The pictures make it seem like the rooms are nice and bright, when in reality a lot of the rooms are on the lower level where it’s super dark and humid, and also extremely loud. My room was on the ground floor next to the little “pool” and that’s where they sit people who arrive before bringing them to their room, so basically the room’s already dark and you need to keep your curtains closed at all time to try and have a bit of privacy (it’s basically as if you had no window).
It’s super loud too because people are hanging out just outside the room and you can hear all the noise from the reception and the neighboring rooms, and the plumbing which was making weird noises throughout the night.
I was awaken constantly by the phone ringing at reception (at 5am), people walking in and out, the alarm clock in the next room, the plumbing, etc.
The staff is nice but not much they can do about the crappy rooms. They did move one of my friends on day 2 from the horrible room she was in (immediately next to reception with virtually no window) to a nicer room on the highest floor.
Not a question of price as all the rooms cost the same (we tried).
Bathroom was quite run down (thankfully it was dark so I probably didn’t see how dirty it was).
Apart from the location which is convenient to explore the Medina, there’s nothing I would compliment about this hotel.
