4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Aberdeen

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Aberdeen is during January, March, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a budget-friendly getaway, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully experience the city's key landmarks and cultural sites. During your visit, you can explore the historic university, majestic castles, and vibrant shopping areas, as well as discover the rich history at various museums and the local library. With friendly locals and a thriving theatre scene, Aberdeen offers great value for money for those looking to immerse themselves in its heritage.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: For travellers heading to Aberdeen, Hotels.com may offer enticing hotel deals through its DealsOpens in a new window section. You could find last-minute bargains in the Last-Minute Deals section, and if you sign up for email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales. The app’s Smart Shopping feature serves as a comparison tool, allowing you to contrast hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you stay informed if rooms become available or prices drop. This approach may help secure a timely and affordable getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at an Aberdeen hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels may offer a more personalised service and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears higher, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually cost more, but thanks to Aberdeen's excellent public transport links, you may find a more affordable independent hotel further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
