I’ve stayed at this hotel a lot, and know what to expect. Under the previous ownership, the prices were very reasonable and so you put up with the weird elements (bath taps over the sink in the room). However, under new management the prices now rival the major brands (Premier Inn/Travelodge) but the facilities in the room (particularly the bathrooms) haven’t been updated, which makes the cost now questionable value at best.
The bathrooms all need an overhaul. They are tired and not very safe. There are no hand rails or walk in showers. The sealant has seen better days and generally they don’t feel as ‘clean’ (even though I’m sure they are cleaned as best as they can be). Maintenance needs to be undertaken. Having sinks with bath taps as a fix, where the handles come off, isn’t a great look.
However, the bed is comfortable and the location is amazing (for my purposes). Hoping that the new ownership will make some investment here to bring up the standard to match their new pricing structure.
