Smile Lanna Hotel
"Pleasant stay. Breakfast was great and all staff were friendly and amazing! The only thing was that the beds were very hard to sleep on."
Tamarind Village
"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tamarind Village for so many reasons: a beautiful lush setting, wonderful friendly staff, and delicious authentic meals. Our room was clean, quiet, and close to the hotel’s amenities, their restaurant, pool, spa, and shop. It was also located perfectly inside the OLD City making walking easily accessible to much the city has to offer. Having stayed in Bangkok for the first part of our vacation, we didn’t feel we really experienced the richness of Thailand’s culture. However, Tamarind Village provided us with many niceties, such as providing tea upon arrival, robe and slippers, a city walk, and cultural pool side offerings. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and appreciate those who traveled there before us for their glowing recommendations."
Tapae Place Hotel Chiangmai
"The two things that make this place are the staff, breakfast, and location. The staff were wonderful - very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast (90 baht per morning) was excellent and well worth the price. Buffet style and fresh ingredients. The room was pretty much what you would expect for the price. It would have been 5 stars if not for the bed. It was like sleeping on concrete, but I can look past that for everything else the hotel had. The location is perfect - minutes away from Tha Phae Gate and Old City (make sure to visit the old city market on Sundays!), Night Bazaar, Loi Kroh, and plenty else. There are plenty of songtaews and tuk tuks around, places to eat (really nice restaurant right next to the hotel), and was the perfect spot for my two week stint in Ching Mai. Make sure to avoid the elephant rescues in the immediate area and walk the 10 minutes to the Elephant Nature Park in Old City. All in all, you’ll enjoy your stay."

For a budget-friendly trip that allows you to fully appreciate the key landmarks and cultural attractions, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. During your visit, you can engage in activities such as horseback riding, biking, and excursions, all while discovering the region's rich history and vibrant culture. This timeframe offers great value for money, providing ample opportunity to explore Mae On’s trendy spots and natural beauty without straining your finances.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Mae On, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider activating email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save. The Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities easily. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you could be among the first to book a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you potentially save on your stay at a hotel in Mae On. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised stay and may sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price seems a bit steep, we’ll suggest more affordable dates, making it more likely you'll save on your booking.
- Consider your location: Staying near key attractions or city centres can offer convenience but usually tends to come with higher costs. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, allowing you to balance price with accessibility to the sites you intend to visit. You might also explore independent hotels located further out, which can provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
