Coastline Mirissa Boutique hotel and spa
"As a Sri Lankan living abroad who has travelled to many countries, this was a rare and memorable find in Sri Lanka. We had an excellent stay at this beautiful, eco-friendly hotel. It is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of Mirissa Beach, and the property is exceptionally well maintained. The staff were warm, friendly, and always happy to accommodate our requests. A particularly nice touch was being personally greeted by the owners during breakfast, which made us feel genuinely welcome. If you’re looking for a peaceful, sustainable place to stay in Mirissa, I highly recommend this hotel."

"Amazing property, great location and great service! I am here with the extended family, we have almost 10 people and the hotel has been super receptive to our needs and accommodative. The rooms are large and well maintained. Dhilini and Chamindi were specially great, they remembered our anniversary and tried to make it special."

"Very beautiful hotel and people"
Beach & Bliss Mirissa
"Really loved the staff. The hotel is in a great location. Private access to beach. Bueatiful scenery. The only thing that I did not like about this hotel is that the beds are unfortunately hard as a rock. I loved that they had netflix though!"
Weligama Bay Resort
"Our stay in the garden villa was really great. It was clean and spacious with a semi outdoor bathroom. The pool area was straight in front of the ocean so you could watch the waves from your sunbed. Surf board hire was cheap with a large range of boards. Drinks were cheap and food yummy."
Southbeach Weligama
"The ocean view was very nice. Our room was one of the best and very large, it accommodated 4 people. Everything was very nice we arrived in the low season yet we enjoyed our time. The staff were splendid. We ate all our meals at the hotel restaurant because it tasted so good and the staff were so helpful and friendly."

For a budget-friendly experience, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended to fully appreciate the area's significant landmarks, cultural sites, and natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy the stunning beaches, visit ancient temples, and explore historical monuments. With friendly locals and delightful dining options, Matara offers great value for money, making it an ideal destination for those looking to explore while on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover attractive Matara hotel deals by visiting the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com. For last-minute opportunities, check the Last-Minute Deals area, where discounted last-minute rates close to your travel date may be available. Additionally, enabling email alerts or push notifications could ensure you are informed about flash sales and special promotions. With the Smart Shopping tool available via the app, travellers can compare hotel prices and amenities, so if rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to see an opportunity to book a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a better deal for your stay in a hotel in Matara. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer good value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in your search for a potentially better deal.
- Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres may provide convenience, but it often comes with higher costs. For more budget-friendly options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the places you intend to visit. You could also look into independent hotels located further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
