The Maya Heritage hotel is in an ideal location with respect to Bodhgaya's temples and sights. We could see the Mahabodhi Temple out the back window of our room and could walk there in 10-15 minutes. The Thai temple is around one corner, the Big Buddha around the other corner, and the Japanese temple is down the street 100 m or so. The hotel is very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable and the breakfast is outstanding. We would definitely stay there again.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Gaya
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Gaya is during May, July, and August, when hotel prices are generally lower. To fully experience the city’s rich history, culture, and key landmarks, it is advisable to stay for at least 4 to 5 days. This duration allows for the exploration of various temples, museums, and scenic sights, all of which offer great value for money. Whether you’re interested in cultural tours, visiting secluded spots, or enjoying the natural surroundings, Gaya provides a wealth of budget-friendly options that could enhance your stay.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: For Gaya hotels, visiting Hotels.com's Dealsopens in new window section may reveal attractive discounts, while the Last-Minute Deals area could offer reduced rates near your travel dates. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature on the app is a handy comparison tool that lets travellers compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you have the latest updates on availability and potential savings for your Gaya hotel bookings.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates might help you find a better deal for your stay in a Gaya hotel. If you're seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and, at times, enhanced value. When you make a reservation through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price appear to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer more affordability.
Consider your location: Hotels nearer to the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but with Gaya’s excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
