After initial problem of getting room number and passcode we were able to access room. Room was fine and our stay was pleasant.

Decent and comfortable
This is a simple but nice motel. The room was homey, warm, and comfortable. Also, the shower instantly had hot water that didn’t run out, which was much appreciated. Amenities included a microwave, a decently sized mini fridge, and a TV with some good channel and streaming options. Also check-in was super easy—they just text or email you with the room number and the keypad code. The bed was fine, kinda springy with middling to soft firmness. The sheets were soft but quite warm (polyester) and the AC/heater was a little fiddly to figure out. I’d probably stay there again as it’s good quality for the price and convenient for the area. I came for the dark sky headlands and it was super close to the entrance.

2/10 Poor

We didn’t have any coffee, conditioner, shampoo And the bathroom was very, very dark. It needs a new light - It was old. The one bed almost fell off of the metal frame it was on!!! After I said, they review, the office said there was coffee in the office. I don’t want to come in my PJs to get the coffee - Ridiculous!

The place was nice, quiet and safe. The refrigerator did not work, however. We are just letting the owners know so that they can inspect before the next guests.

Good value, convenient and clean--but dated.
Well folks, it all depends upon your perspective, what you are used to, and what you are using the room for. This IS a MOTEL, and they were popular when I was a kid back in the 60/70s, so I felt like I was going back in time. the rooms were ALL wood, and therefore rather DARK (room 27) The interior desecrator should have used a lighter bedspread for certain and a little lighter carpet would have helped. Paintings need a bit of updating as well. So here is the BAD and the GOOD from my perspective. Bathroom was small and the sink and dressing area are open to the room and window so you dress behind a curtain. they provide all you need (even Kleenex) but I gotta tell you the towels are small and I am not a large person. TV took a bit of getting used to but then we really were not there much. No coffee in room gotta walk to office each morning. Beds were comfortable to me and sheets were super soft. NO water provided but they do have ice. It is a convenient location you can walk to two good eateries like 2 blocks as well as groceries, and town is 4 blocks. The place was really clean and the workers there are super friendly and helpful in every way. So all in all, if you just need a bed to sleep in, a good hot shower (pressure was just ok), and you don't mind a little dark and dungie, this is a great value for this high-priced town. and if you consider that the Island a ferry ride away is still using horse and buggies to get around, this place is ahead of it

We have stayed at the Vindel Motel for years, coming for the Richard Crane Memorial Semi Truck show in St. Ignace. We have always enjoyed our experience there. I understand it was sold and the new owners this year. Really miss the personal touches that were at the motel before. Like coffee pots, extra towels and conversation.

We never saw any staff at the motel. The check in and out process is all by way of the code for the door. Our room was tucked back into a corner of the motel. The parking was very crowded. We couldn't park near our room. We have a truck and so we parked out by the pool. The room was very clean.

Very nice motel, very close within 5-20 mins walking distance to eat or to the ferry terminal. Can't hear the interstate thats 2 blocks away. Easy to get into and out of, light traffic on the main road. Good base camp if you are spending most of your time out and about.

6/10 Good

We liked the vintage feel of the rooms and very clean. I know it is an older motel, but really needs to be updated in the bathroom areas to make safer and more accessible for older people and those that have physical disabilities, especially with the toilets being so low to the ground. And unfortunately because of this we could not stay there again.
