I was excited to book this hotel for my son and his best friend traveling to Wichita to attend Shocker Day at WSU tomorrow. This was their first time traveling solo and the hotel's proximity to the college was comforting to us parents. I called to confirm payment was processed thru Expedia and found it was just secured, not paid. The front desk clerk was very helpful guiding me to your website to process payment. And luckily she mentioned that soap and shampoo is not provided at the hotel....I had no idea and that is absolutely something that should be advertised because travellers don't need to be scrambling to find after a long day! On the Expedia website, shampoo and soap listed as provided. I selected a non smoking suite with double beds. This isn't just a preference but my son had complex health conditions (Crohn's Disease, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Asthma and Migraines) and when checking in, they were told only smoking rooms available. If I had known he'd be trapped in a smoke infested room at the end of a long at a high school track meet and 3 hour drive I would not have booked at your hotel. Tonight is a disappointment for my son's first solo travel experience...Your corporate policy prohibits me from cancelling my reservation but allows you to "bait and switch" a smoker room and not honor the reservation as was marketed to me for purchase. I respectfully request a credit toward my purchase, as we are not receiving the room stay we purchased.
