I don’t usually write reviews, but this place does not match the quality in which it’s advertised.
Check in was great, the staff was friendly and offered a bottle of wine due to it being my birthday. That’s pretty much where the positivity ended.
The entire resort is quite old and in need of updates. We stayed 2 nights in the main lodge, the rooms are upstairs from the restaurants and main lobby. I love a good rustic feeling place, but the floor creaking with every step is quite annoying. You can hear everything from the bar (which is 2 levels below) plus neighboring rooms. It’s fine to hear surrounding sounds, but this was loud. The room itself was fine, but quite expensive for what you get.
Don’t bother making reservations for the northwoods pub like the front desk says to do.
The spa is under construction the service was amazing but the spa is extremely small, crowded and VERY overpriced.
The pool and outdoor hot tub are crowded and in need of cleaning.
I don’t understand all of the reviews saying how “amazing” this place is. It’s not a bad place, but it’s not the incredible amazing luxurious grand retreat like it’s advertised. It’s an old resort on a lake that’s in need of some updates. It’s rustic and dated, which is fine, but it is not advertised and priced to match what it is.
I’m thankful we stayed in the winter where the rooms are less expensive.
