The hotel cancelled our booking without notice, then there was reception.... well what only be described as beyond rude! Spent nearly two hours with Hotels.com (who were amazing) trying to sort it over Facebook and phone and Treebo Head Office trying to sort it. Reception staff were dismissive, talked over us, refused to acknowledge our booking was still showing as active to the point of refusing to look at ‘active bookings’ then proceeded to talk amoungst themselves laughing ‘this is india, their booking is cancelled’ they ignored Hotels.coms calls and picked and hung up some, Hotels.com asked me to tell them to take their call, ridiculous and unbelievable. When asked direct questions they ignored us, at one point I had to ask others in the room if I was visible, everyone around was shocked by the whole experience and there’s ongoing communication regarding complaint.
After the 2 hours, they actually found a room in a ‘fully booked’ hotel which leads on to other issues- The hotel itself was rather dirty and there was a lot of noise from staff talking/shouting in corridors making it difficult to sleep.
