We had a lovely two night stay whilst in the Loire Valley on our way south to the Dordogne. The hotel has ample parking and is beautifully decorated, with a cute little boutique shop next door.
The staff were very charming, friendly and helpful, which really made the stay very pleasant. They were quick to deal with any requests and spoke excellent English.
The hotel has a really good spa, which includes an indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and Hammam as well as all the usual treatments and massages on offer. We had a couples massage and facial during our stay and spent the afternoon by the pool, so can highly recommend the spa - much needed relaxation after a few days on the road and visiting Châteaus.
Breakfast is a simple affair, with the expected range of French breads, meats, cheeses, eggs and cereal - good fresh quality and plenty to fill up on.
The room was a good size, with a nice garden view, comfy bed, generous bathroom and great air con. The only downside was the number of random steps between areas in the room, which we both managed to trip on numerous times! You’ll also need to carry luggage up the stairs to the room, so one to be prepared for - is not far and worth it for the character of the hotel.
We would definitely stay here again as the hotel and staff are great and Montsoreau itself is a lovely town in a great location on the Loire!
