Comfortable place to stay
It is a very nice, cosy and quiet place to stay. It will be great if there is a microwave to heat food.

Nice lodge close to Te Puia Maori experience
Overall great lodge in a quiet location close to Te Puia Maori experience. Lovely to have a shared living room with a kitchenette so you could spend time relaxing. The only thing missing was a microwave or hot plate to heat stuff if you wanted to. It was not staffed on arrival, you were asked to call and get the lock access code, but this was made clear on our booking. We did not actually meet them in person. When we arrived the room was unmade, but this was quickly rectified after a phone call. She was very apologetic and explained why it had happened. We met the housekeeping staff as they came to clean the room, and they were quite pleasant and helpful, giving us ideas of where to visit locally for the best experience in Rotorua. We had to stay an extra night and our hostess was very accommodating of our request. Overall a great stay. Would return again.

Old style lodge with nice interior
I start with the things I did not like: do not book this facility in case you do not own a NZ SIM card or any other option to make phone calls at reasonable prices. The owner is not on site, hence there is no reception. Instead he will call you and give you a door access code. In my case this needed two calls, which cost me in total nearly 100 NZ $ ... Also the lodge was very hard to find, which needed the second call, to guide me to the right house. So if you have a cheap option to phone, no problem. The lodge itself is very nice, delicate furniture, expensive leather chairs. There is even an open fire place in the shared living room. Internet is fast, you have a basket with beverages in the room - each item is 2 NZ $ We spent there 4 nights, but we did not get any service. No dust pin was emptied (which was already quite full) and no towels where changed. No cleaning of the room. The location is a little bit offside the town, so without a car you cannot reach this place well. Overall the room was nice and it was quiet. So if you do not mind the above mentioned issues it is worth staying there.
