We stayed in Drakos room which was spacious, with twin beds, a modern shower room and balcony. It was very comfortable. (Some rooms have traditional platform beds, so if that's not your style check out the website and/or enquire with the guest-house to make sure you get a room with ordinary beds.) We liked the special touches throughout, such as the traditional style bedspreads and wall hangings, and the family photos in the dining room. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. George, Philipos and all the staff were very welcoming. Monolithos is a quiet, traditional village, but there were a number of restaurants open, including the one at Limeri, which serves delicious food. There was enough choice for us to have two vegetarian meze style evening meals, and breakfast each morning. The village is well situated to visit the southern part of the island, which is much less developed than the north. There is a lovely circular walk nearby taking you to the "Limeri", or bandits hideout, up in the hills, and continuing on to a small chapel. (The path coming down from the chapel is steep with loose stones, so wear walking boots/shoes and allow plenty of time.) George will tell you where the walk starts. If I come back to Rhodes I would definitely stay there again.
