10/10 Exceptional

Quiet and quirky
Delightful, quirky hotel. Easy self check-in. Might like more history of the place - i gather it was a fire station and the name folly and the owl connection. Always good to have stories.

Pleasant stay
After a difficult entry ( dark and couldn't see the key pad number) had to phone and was helped. The room was very warm and comfortable bathroom clean and had great shower. Think I was only resident as after getting in I saw nobody ( bit spooky) All in all was excellent value and I would go back again

10/10 Exceptional

I found my stay to be better than expected. The location was great. My room was clean and appeared to have been recently updated. I would book it again.

Change of plans.
The hotel was charming quaint and in a perfect location. The room was clean large and well stocked. It was a last minute decision to come to the coast of Scotland and it was a great decision.

This was an ideal small hotel with a great location and great service from the owners ie room made up each and complimentary buffet breakfast in the room also each day. Our room was quite small but everything was in place and very cleàn. An ideal location close to beaches within walking distance and plenty of on road parking close to the hotel. Would recommend tò friends and family.

Quiet, comfortable bed, v good snacks! The shower head could have been cleaner….

Hotel is in a convenient location to town center and beach front. Stayed in a family room which was quite cramped . Beds were comfortable and there is a breakfast assortment left for you which is a nice touch. Room needs painting
John, 1-night trip

Tiny but acceptable
The room was everything I needed and less; 180 sf and tiny. But, still a value. There was no staff just a coded box with keys (get the code before you get in town, cell service is weak and I had to have my wife text me the code)! Easy in easy out. Good location. Single bed with no place for a second person unless you’re newly in love.
George, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The location was great and my room well appointed with en suite facilities. Unfortunately the shower would not work and with the self check in service, finding staff was next to impossible.
Janet, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Cold and miserable stay
The room was cold and the dark green blanket provided was unclean. I had two bites on my lower left calf in the morning. The parking is unsafe, my vehicle was subject to a hit and run resulting in danage to my vehicle.

A decent stay
It was a nice and quaint hotel, just a little pricy for the condition it was in, though I think that’s due more to location, which was worth the price. The owners were helpful and very friendly. The chocolate mallow that was left on my bed was delicious. The walls are very thin, which can be counter productive to sleeping, and a fan would have been nice in the room, but overall, a decent place.

8/10 Very good

It would be good if there were more places like that for people who simply need a decent room and shower for the night. It's a self-check in/out with a door code sent to your phone, but it does the job.

great spot right across street from north berwick golf course. easy access to train to edinburgh. easy bus ride to Gullane on 124 bus. best for for golfers needing few amenities. need to walk up narrow stairs. easy walk to downtown for restaurants

A pleasant stay in North Berwick
We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly. The room number 5 was smaller than expected.
Alexandra, 7-night trip

8/10 Very good

Clean comfy bed complete with Tunnocks Teacake!!tv,kettle, continental breakfast supplied in room, well stocked hospitality tray. Imaginative use of awkward shape building with lights and mirrors etc. Only quibble awkward shower entry exit if mobility probs but forewarned.Lounge dining area mid refurb so not in use but forewarned.I shall return if in area again,.Good base for business or sightseeing.

4/10 Fair

This property in NO WAY resembles the description on the website, it's a mess, no food, no bar , tiny room with dangerous electrics, I wouldn't let my dog stay here and the price is outrageous for the very substandard facilities.
John, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Clean, comfortable and convenient. The property operates a collect your own key from box system so you must have the pin before arrival. The shower is adequate, there is a kettle for coffee and tea. Nothing fancy but all good. Location perfect to all amenities and beach.
Elizabeth, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

More hostel than hotel. No cooked breakfast. No catering facilities. Room was clean but with broken/loose lights. Bathroom shelf loose. Bedding was clean. Snack box provided in room.

overnight
Nice enough room with very decent space. Bathroom not in great condition in several places & very cramped due to low ceiling meaning we had to crouch when in it. Location good, handy for the beach, Train station and the town
