"The hotel location is great. Right on the water with breathtaking view. Hotel is in great condition. I was disappointed to find out that I wasn’t offered a shuttle to the cruise port, and had to pay 15 pounds for a taxi (after I was told it would be no more than 10 pounds). They forgot to mention it when I checked in, and didn’t take responsibility for that. That left a bitter taste in my stomach and that’s why I rated it 4 stars. "

"Lovely hotel, rooms were well appointed. 4*. I had a small double room with ensuite. Shower. Missed a fridge being in the room though. Parking is limited at the hotel but plenty of free parking to the side on road. Avoid parking under trees as lots of seagulls around...! Friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely breakfast. Full traditional English and buffet continental. Hotel has a Victorian feel about it. Lifts were all working. West end of Folkestone. By

"Visited for an AGM. Saturday night stay. Excellent as always. If you are going for a romantic stay worth paying a little extra to update to a deluxe room; still very reasonable in price, as not all rooms have been upgraded yet. Near all visitor sights and transport. Swimming pool a bonus."

"Mattress was about 5cm thick and was as hard as wood me and my partner couldn’t actually sleep so we ended up leaving the hotel at 5:30am. The shower we didn’t even use because you’d have to stand like a pencil in the shower. The hot tap on the sink didn’t work. The carpets were all lifted, there was no latch to keep the window open and we were provided with an electric radiator but no fan considering the weather conditions. As we were leaving the member of staff who was supposed to be on...
