Lovely hotel; conveniently located
Great location. Lovely hotel steps from Marutamachi subway station. Good hub for buses also. Comfortable walk to sights (Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace).
Extremely clean. Quiet, spacious room. Wonderful breakfast. (The only alternative for breakfast in the area was MacDonalds; other restaurants opened much later.) Helpful staff.
Our family of 3 adults (2 parents & 1 adult child) had a room with 2 twin beds + bed sofa. Unfortunately, the bed sofa was too hard to sleep on, so our daughter used 1 twin bed while we shared the other twin bed. We had an extra duvet on each bed for extra padding. It was doable.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the breakfast in the morning is very very good. My only complaint is that there is no common area where you can sit. The lobby has one small seating area but I felt like the hotel needed something more where people can chill and use their laptop. I think there was a coworking space in the ground floor but it was closed off for everyone.

Staff are very nice and helpful and the rooms struck a good balance between “western” and more traditionalist Japanese aesthetics.

Clean, big and quiet room. Great free breakfast, which saved us alot of time and money on our trip to beautiful and fun Kyoto. Hope to come back, and stay here too.

Lovely hotel in great spot
This was a great hotel and inexpensive in a quiet street right over the road from the railway station . Breakfasts were good and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Large room and very comfortable bed.
Plenty of affordable restaurants close by and convenient store next door.

Great access to the Marutamachi subway (literally next door!). The entrance was less upscale than expected, however once entered, have a mostly 4-star feel. We found it a bit on the darker side in both decor and natural lighting. Elevators were very small. However, professional and helpful staff. Room was VERY clean and presented a more traditional Japanese decor references (like a samurai art piece in a display case in our room). Great details! They included good quality complementary products like non-drying body wash, shampoo and conditioner. As well of incidentals that you may have forgotten like toothbrush, individually wrapped both cloths, etc. Had a nice coffee and tea station. Large room 2-twin beds room! Mini fridge. Comcast tv for watching Netflix, etc. We stayed 6 days! Very comfortable and quiet. We recommend this hotel based on location, room size, cleanliness, and helpful staff.
